DETROIT (AP) — Eddie Murphy is returning to his role as Axel Foley in a new installment of the Beverly Hills Cop movie series, and filming is expected to take place soon in Detroit ahead of its scheduled March 2016 release date.

The Michigan Film Office announced Thursday that Brett Ratner will direct and Jerry Bruckheimer will produce the film for Paramount Pictures.

The film office said it has approved $13.5 million in incentives for the film, based on an estimated $56.6 million of projected expenses in the state. The state said the film will employ about 352 Michigan workers.

In the update to the franchise, the Foley character leaves his work as a Beverly Hills police detective during a record-cold winter to help with an investigation.
