Alyx grew up in Reno and graduated from McQueen High School in 2007. She attended the University of Nevada, Reno where she graduated with a degree in Journalism and Sociology in 2011. She worked as an Anchor/Reporter for Wolf Pack Week. Alyx also played soccer for the Wolf Pack. During her 4 year tenure, she primarily played forward and outside midfield.
News 4 is where it all started for Alyx. Her first journalism internship was with the News 4 sports team her senior year of high school. After her internship she says she caught the bug and fell in love with journalism. Alyx returned to News 4 in 2009 and worked as a video editor. Then, in 2010 she interned again for News 4.
In her free time Alyx likes to Crossfit, hike, run, bike and camp. She’s a big sports fan, and particularly enjoys supporting Nevada football. Go Pack!
Most importantly, Alyx enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She says she's excited to be back in the Biggest Little City and looks forward to working in the community she grew up loving.
