The Office of Human Resources provides support to over 8,000 employees. The Office consists of Employee Services, Labor Relations, Talent Acquisition, Professional Learning and Risk Management. Though excellent customer service, our team is focused on recruiting, selecting, supporting, and retaining a diverse and high-performing workforce to improve student achievement.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Human Resources Analyst – Classification & Compensation will:
•Conduct job analysis as a basis for developing selection procedures and establishing appropriate classifications by:
oEvaluating compensable factors and recommends appropriate pay grade.
oConducting interviews with incumbents and supervisors, and conduct desk/position audits
oGathering relevant comparison information from within and outside the District.
oWhen appropriate, conducting salary surveys.
oDocumenting rationale and making classification recommendations to Executive Cabinet/Chief Human Resources Officer.
•Serve as systems administrator for human resources systems software and hardware, including web-based applications and interface to applicant tracking database, including developing forms, data entry protocol, report generation, and interfacing between software applications.
•Perform special studies of a non-routine nature, including researching laws and best practices, preparing surveys and compiling results, extracting and analyzing complex human resources data, composing reports and making presentations of findings.
•Develop job descriptions, including appropriate minimum qualifications and license requirements. Develop job-related, valid and reliable selection procedures, administers and scores examinations and work sample exercises.
•Serves as a resource to staff and District personnel in the development of selection procedures, interviewing and related activities.
•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in human resources, business management, education administration or a closely related field.
•Three (3) years of experience performing complex technical assignments and providing technical support for a public or private human resources program.
•Possession of valid Nevada driver license.
•Experience in human resources administration, including recruitment, selection, job analysis, compensation and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements is preferred.
In addition to the requirements above, an ideal candidate will:
•Develop compensation, job evaluation, and salary schedule structure
•Be knowledgeable in practices of management and organization development and federal and state employment laws and regulations pertaining to human resources administration
•Analyze information, develop alternatives, evaluate consequences and make recommendations for classification and compensation
•Communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including public speaking, interpersonal communication, preparing reports, correspondence and publications
•Maximize the utility of Human Resources Information systems, including database programs, online employment application system, employee recordkeeping applications, spreadsheets and common office applications
•Interpret and apply regulations, collective bargaining agreements, policies and procedures.
