A costume Clayton Moore wore as the title character in classic TV series The Lone Ranger has sold at auction for $195,000.

The ensemble donned by the masked former Texas Ranger in the popular U.S. series went under the hammer on Saturday through Waco, Texas-based auction house A & S Auction Co.

An undisclosed buyer purchased the outfit, which included matching light blue shirt and pants, a red kerchief, Stetson hat, cowboy boots and a belt holster which holds two custom-made Colt pistols.

Organizers originally set the price at $150,000, but the outfit eventually sold for $45,000 more than the estimate.

The Lone Ranger character debuted in a radio show in 1933, spawning a series of books, comic books, movies, and the TV series starring Moore, which ran from 1949 to 1957.
