Spanish musician Peret dies at 79

Singer and guitarist Peret has died at the age of 79.

The Rumba musician, born Pedro Pubill Calaf, passed away on Tuesday following a battle with lung cancer, according to Billboard.com.

Peret recorded his first album in 1962, but he was best known for his 1971 song "Borriquito."

In 1992, he performed during the closing ceremony at the Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, and was working on two albums at the time of his death.
