Sci-fi sequel "Transformers: Age of Extinction" has destroyed its rivals to land at the top of the U.K. box office chart.

The action movie, starring Mark Wahlberg, took $19.8 million in its opening weekend, easily outstripping its nearest challenger "How To Train Your Dragon 2," which netted $13 million.

TV sitcom spin-off "Mrs. Brown's Boys D'Movie" was toppled from its perch at the top and sunk to third place, with $1.7 million, and romantic drama "The Fault in Our Stars" dropped from second to fourth, with $949,664.

It was a disappointing opening weekend for Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo's new comedy "Begin Again" - the movie limped into fifth place with takings of just $775,944.
