More than $27k raised at Nevada Day's Governor Banquet

RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) - The final tally for the 3rd Annual Nevada Day Governor’s Banquet fundraiser is in. More than $27,000 was raised from the October 24th event during the silent and live auctions as well as straight donations given that evening.

The event celebrated the launch the year-long NV150 celebration to commemorate the 150th anniversary and benefited The Children’s Cabinet of Nevada.

Rich Crombie, who organized the event, said Grand Sierra Resort owner Alex Meruelo matched all revenues generated by the live auction, amounting to a donation of $18,200. Lance Gilman of the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center and Mustang Ranch, and Storey County made sizable donations as well.

Portions of the evening’s proceeds will benefit The Children’s Cabinet.

The 4th Annual Nevada Day Governor’s Banquet is scheduled for Thu. Oct. 30th, 2014 and will benefit The Boys & Girls Club.
