Reno, NV (MyNews4.com & KRNV) - Alert ID is offering a free app download that provides information about whether neighborhoods are safe for trick-or-treating.
"Now, people will be able to check the area they're considering for trick-or-treating," said Alert ID founder Keli Wilson. "As parents, our number-one priority is the safety of our children."
The Alert ID app will assess the threat level of any neighborhood in Nevada, based upon the number of registered sex offenders living in the area, as well as crimes like shootings, burglaries, break-ins and fights.
"It's really important to know where these crimes are happening," said Wilson. "You might want to steer clear of an area altogether."
Alert ID is a free service available to anyone in Nevada, and the service is expanding to other states. To participate in this free service designed to keep you and your family safe, click the link above.
