(MyNews4.com and KRNV) Gardnerville, NV - Two 15-year-olds have been arrested for their alleged role int he start of the 2,400 acre Ray May fire.
Douglas County Sheriff's Department made the arrest in conjunction with East Fork Fire Investigation.
According to Sierra Front dispatch, the teens built a fort near Ray May Way. While there, they started a camp fire. When they left, they failed to properly put out the fire. Winds then picked up and spread the flames.
Despite claims from the Public Information Officer on the scene of the fire, prosecutors say the teens have not yet been charged. They do however say a 3rd degree arson charge is likely. There names have not been released due to their ages. The investigation is ongoing.
