Sue wrote in asking why renown charges three dollars for valet parking outside the emergency room ?
She says the other parking option is quite a distance away and not convenient. She wonders if renown is capitalizing on other people's misfortune by charging them to park during a visit to the emergency room.
I spoke with Dan Davis over at Renown.
He says they do charge a three dollar fee for valet parking outside the emergency room.
But he also said that fee can be waived if you are disabled or can't afford to pay for any reason.
He also says there is free self-parking available in the east parking lot for people who don't want to pay.
But he says they offer the valet service as a convenience and the three dollar fee is used pay the valet staff.
So they are not trying to gouge people in any way and if you don't want to pay to park remember there is free parking nearby, Its just not as convenient as the valet system.
