Question:
Jan in Reno wrote in asking where was the security guard at Bank of America when the robbery happened on Wednesday ( October 16th) ?   She's noticed the branch on Plumb Lane has a guard on duty all the time.

Answer:
That's a good question.  I have noticed the security guard positioned outside the Plumb Lane branch.  There is also a security guard at the Mill Street B of A branch whenever it is open.
Neither Reno Police, the FBI, nor Bank of America would say whether there was a guard working at the Meadowood Branch yesterday.   And the court documents do not make any mention of a security guard.
When it comes to bank security answers are not easy to come by.
I asked B of A about it and this is the response I received from Colleen Haggerty, senior vice president for media relations:
"We have a variety of security measures in place at every banking center that we do not disclose publicly."
Sorry I don't have more information on this.  I would imagine Bank of America will be reviewing safety issues at that Meadowood Branch but that process is an internal one which is off limits to the public and customers.
