Question:
From the Ask Joe file, a follow-up to a story News 4 covered about the poor condition of a local high school football field.
Amy Roukie wrote in to point out they are currently working on the Reed High Football field.
She thanked us for focusing on the problem. She said it is too late for her son, but she feels it will be a much better field in years to come.

Answer:
News 4 reported on the poor conditions of the Reed High field back in 2012. Last year, the NIAA moved Reed's home playoff game to Bishop Manogue because of the condition of the field.
So this has been an ongoing issue for a while. Now there are new developments.
The Washoe County School District confirmed on Friday that improvements are underway, starting with regrading the field and installing new drainage and soon, brand new turf.
The board of trustees approved the $150,000 for the project back in March. So it is good to see things are looking better for the athletes over at Reed who certainly deserve a safe field to play on.

Why are they not fixing everything? There are holes outside the 360'X 160' playing field. Step out of bounds step in a hole. The goal posts are bent and the one one the north end is cracked. WCSD just doing enough to get by so they can spend the money in Reno?
