Pam Ginsburg wrote in saying last spring DB Shoes had a going out of business sale, but she's noticed they're still in business.
Pam was under the impression its illegal to advertise going out of business and then continue business as usual.
Pam I checked with Amber in the City of Reno's business license department.   It is not illegal in Reno to advertise going out of business and then stay in business.
Interesting though, It is illegal to do that in Sparks and Washoe County.   So the laws are different depending on where the business is.
I also checked with the manager of DB Shoes over on Kietzke.
He says they did hold a going out of business sale last year because they were concerned they might not be able to reach an agreement to renew their lease and might have to move locations as a result.   So they advertised that they were going out of business. But they were eventually able to work out a new lease agreement and Aaron , the store manager says they will be staying in their current location at least for the next year.
