Michelle wrote in asking why the city of Sparks has not taken care of the trash and abandoned Christmas trees left behind on a lot at Oddie and Sullivan, next to  the Grocery Outlet store.
Michelle says there was a tree lot there from October until January but she says they left and left a big mess behind.   We went out and confirmed it. There are a number of old Christmas trees and some other trash left behind on that lot.   The lot is next the Grocery Outlet store but i called the Grocery Outlet and the manager said it is not their property.
I also called Adam Mayberry over at city hall.  He said he was not aware of the problem but he alerted the code enforcement department. They will contact the property owner and get the lot cleaned up.   Mayberry said he appreciated us bringing it to his attention.
In the future if you do see something that you feel code enforcement needs to look into call them at 353-555.  That's for the city of sparks.  Let them know so they can check it out and take care of it.
