Ask Joe: Ormbsy House Update
Kathie in Carson City along with several other viewers have written in asking what's going on with the Ormsby House ? They want to know if construction has stopped and why ?
Its tough to get much information about this but I talked to Kevin Gaddis, the Carson City Building Official.
He couldn't tell me much but he says there are active building permits which have been issued for the property which is located across from the legislature in Carson City. Gaddis says the owner recently did some concrete work on the outside. He says his understanding is the owners are revising some of the interior drawings and plans but that's been going on for a while. He's not sure what's holding up the project.
The Ormsby House was built back in the 1970's. Its been closed for a more than a decade though and a lot of people are anxious to see it reopen. If I hear of any more progress, I'll be sure to pass it on in a follow-up report.
