Rusty stopped me on the street and said he wanted to know why the power went out in his neigbhorhood near the Peppermill last night ?
I checked with Karl Walquist over at NV Energy. He says there was a power outage last night, affecting about 200 customers including the Peppermill.
The power went out around 6:45 and was back on by 7:15. There was another smaller outage that affected 63 customers and that one was fixed around 11:00 pm.
Walquist says a circuit was tripped and they were able to re-set but they haven't been able to find out why it tripped. He says it may have been a bad cable.
By the way if you're wondering if nv energy ever gives rebates on power bills when there's a power outage, i asked karl about that and he says you can file a claim if you can show there was some damage or loss as a result of the outage. For example if you had food that spoiled after a lengthy power outage. You can file a claim and try to get reimbursed in those cases.
