Frank Komertz wrote in saying he's noticed an unmarked 747 parked near the control tower at the Reno-Tahoe airport. He says the plane seems to come and go once a week. Frank says his curiosity has gotten the best of him and he wants to know what that big plane is used for.
I checked with the airport about this since there are probably other viewers who have noticed that plane and are wondering about it.
Heidi Jared , a spokesperson for the airport says that unmarked jet is used to transport military personnel to and from the area.
Recently some U-S marines were flown in and while they were here the plane was parked near the Atlantic Aviation Facility.
Unfortunately it just departed yesterday so i couldn't get a picture of it.
Also there's a military base and training center down in Bridgeport and a lot of the those troops fly in and out of Reno.
Anyway, its not often you see an unmarked 747 out at the airport, but now you what it's doing there when you see it.
