Question:
Brad Wunderlich wrote in pointing out the scoreboards at the Rancho San Rafael Park softball fields have not worked for years.
He wants to know why the city of Reno has not fixed them, since participants pay $500 per team to play in the league ?

Answer:
I checked with Joe Wilson at the city of Reno Parks and Rec Department.
He says there are two scoreboards up at Rancho San Rafael that are not working.
He says they haven't worked for a couple of years.  Right now the city is getting bids as they are required to do.
The cost is going to be about $10,000 to fix both scoreboards up at the park.  And that money will come out of the city's general fund.
This is one of those issues that has been put on hold because of the recession but Wilson says the scoreboards should be repaired and running again by the end of the summer.
