Kathie Duart wrote in asking who chose the artwork we're seeing along Interstate 80 and she also wants to know is it the work of a local designer ?
I was able to get some information from Scott Magruder over at NDOT.
It is local contractors and artists contributing to this part of the project.
Here's a rundown:
The original design for the artwork was done by local architects at Stantec Incorporated and the final design was done by local landscape architects at Atkins.
The metal works were supplied by Reno Iron Works with assistance from Tutto Ferro.
And the paint was done by Lindell Paint from Reno.
All of this part of a nearly four million dollar focus on arts and aesthetics , an effort to spruce up the 70 million dollar I-80 design-build project.
