Kathy in Reno wrote in saying she noticed some city workers sweeping the ice on the pond at Paradise Park.
She thought it seemed a little strange and she wants to know why they were on the ice and why  they were sweeping the ice ?

According to the City of Reno someone spilled oil on the ice out at Paradise Park.  They're not sure if it was an accident or some type of prank.
The situation was discovered on Friday, so the city hired a contractor named H20 to come out and clean up the oil that had been spilled.  The company says they take every precuation necessary when their crews are out on the ice.
Now if you know who it was that spilled the oil ,  call Reno Direct  at 334 - INFO or 334-4636. Let them know so the city can look into  and possibly recover some of the costs. Otherwise its our tax dollars being used to clean it up.
