From the Ask Joe File one of our viewers has a question about something she's noticed while driving in south Reno.
Her name is Mui Duck and she wrote in asking why NDOT has a big truck parked in the center median of South Virginia Street between Tamarack Junction and the Summit Shopping Mall ?   She thinks its a hazard.

Mui, I stopped by and took a look Friday afternoon. Sure enough there is a bright yellow NDOT truck parked in the median there.   I checked with Scott Magruder over at NDOT about this.
He says a motorist crashed into that overpass recently and the NDOT truck is now parked there to protect the concrete support for the overpass.
The concern is that concrete was weakened by the previous collision and if someone else were to hit that concrete pier it might collapse and not be able to support that section of the freeway.
So the truck is parked there for now as a barrier.  Magruder says they plan to get some new crash barrels in the next month to put there and at that point the truck will no longer be needed in that spot.

I wonder when the plan is to actually fix it. It's been there for over a month.
