Denise Williams wrote in saying the fire hydrant on her street, Golfview, has been out of service for some time.
She's wondering if it's going to fixed and also what happens if there is a fire in her neigbhorhood ?
Denise sent us a picture of that hydrant on golfview that denise sent us. This is up of clearacre lane. You can see it is clearly marked that it's out of service by the reno fire department.
I checked with the city about this, fire chief michael hernandez says the hydrant will get fixed. He points out there are nearly ten-thousand hydrants in the city and they do their best to keep them all in working order. It may take some time but they will get to it.
Also, there are are multiple hydrants in every neighborhood so in the event there was a fire. Crews would use the next closest one for their water supply.
And the chief points out they also carry water on their trucks which they can use when responding to fires.
