She's an excellent student and choir singer but we've learned an eighth grade student at Billinghurst Middle school is a whole lot more.
News Four's Shelby Sheehan surprised Mariah Moss during her choir class at Billinghurst Wednesday afternoon with our Class Act Award.
Mariah was selected to be a part of the Youth Leadership Academy through Rotary and is an active member of a school group called "Teens Who Care."
Throughout the school year the students put together community outreach projects.
Just recently the students decorated and delivered pumpkins for children in the hospital.
Mariah says the "Teens Who Care" group is just a way for young people to let the community know they want to make a difference.
