She may only be in the 6th grade but a local student is making a big difference in our community and this month she is News Four's Class Act Award Winner!
On Monday we surprised 6th grader Emme Haw in class at Swope Middle School.
Three years ago Emme started a "GO Green" club at Jessie Beck Elementary school to keep the playground clean and get more recycling to happen.
Even though she now goes to Swope, she continued helping the club this year with a drive for jeans that are later turned into insulation for homes.
They collected 772 pairs, enough to do seven homes!
The club now has 250 members and it all started with Emme's idea!
