A special education teacher at Huffaker Elementary School is opening doors for students with autism and this month she is News Four's Excellence in Education Award Winner.
Evening anchor Shelby Sheehan surprised Chandie Rice during a school assembly at Huffaker Elementary School.
Rice has been teaching special education for 5 years and according to her principal has done an amazing job with the new strategies program for children with autism.
There is a big emphasis on visual learning and the children spend some of the day in mainstream classrooms.
Congratulations to Chandie Rice, News Four's Excellence in Education Award Winner.
