A 5th grade teacher at Lemmon Valley Elementary School goes above and beyond to give his students a great education and this month he is News Four's Excellence in Education Award Winner.
Recently evening anchor Shelby Sheehan surprised Ryan Decasa during an assembly with the award.
Mr. Decasa is a teacher who parents say inspires and encourages children to work hard and follow their dreams.
He is both teacher and friend to the students, spending time after school and even on the weekends to make sure his students are enriched academically and artistically.
Over the last few years Decasa has offered free art classes on Saturday's to his students to make sure they don't miss out because of tight school budgets.
