A sixth grade teacher in Reno is as dedicated as you can be to supporting every student and this month she is News Four's Excellence in Education Award Winner.
Today we surprised 6th grade teacher Julie Cleghorn during a school assembly at Sarah Winnemucca Elementary
School.
We were contacted by a parent whose child needed help being more challenged in math.
Cleghorn put together curriculum from the 7th grade to teach the two accelerated students during her lunchtimes.
She has been teaching for eleven years and says it's essential to look at every student as an individual. She says, "I don't teach 6th grade, I teach a group of 6th grade individuals."
