A history teacher at Sparks Middle School is making history come alive for students and this month he is News Four's Excellence in Education award winner for the month of December.

Evening anchor Shelby Sheehan popped in on David Clark during his social studies class recently to present him with the award.
His students say they look forward to going to class everyday because of his stories and creative lesson plans that keep them intrigued.
He's been teaching 15 years at Sparks Middle School and at the same time serving as a lieutenant colonel in the Air National Guard.
Deployed three times to serve in the middle east, now he Clark is working to get his doctorate in education.
Clark says he wanted to be a college professor until he taught middle school and fell in love with these enthusiatic, energetic and exciting young people.

Congratulations to David Clark, News Four's Excellence in Education Award Winner!
