RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Two Nevada lawmakers are calling for an investigation into possible violations of campaign finance law.
Senator Greg Brower and Assemblyman Pat Hickey sent this letter to Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto and Secretary of State Ross Miller asking them to look into the matter.
Brower and Hickey say former Assembly Speaker Barbara Buckley donated thousands of dollars to several legislative candidates during the last election. By law, campaign funds are supposed to be closed out within two months after an elected official leaves office.
Buckley was not a candidate in the last two elections, but she told News 4 she may run for office in the future and that's why she has not closed her account.
