I am appalled by this news story. As a graduate from the UNR School of Journalism I would think your reporters would have higher ethical standards. This man has done nothing but help the hospitals in this community since he stepped foot in this town. Not only that but, the statement made by this accusing woman AND YOUR SO-CALLED NEWS REPORTER being that Dr. Rodriguez is the "only child neurologist in town" is not accurate. There are four other practicing child neurologists in this city. This woman obviously has no idea what it means for a doctor to be ON CALL and OFF CALL. This does not make him liable for ANYTHING, nor did he break any medical standards doing so. The child had never even been seen by the doctor before! Dr. Torch was never even called about this patient because this woman refused for any other neurologist to treat her child UNLESS it was Dr. Rodriguez. This woman wanted the help of the best child neurologist in town for a NEW patient during an emergency when he was not on call, yet there were 4 other doctors that could have also been contacted for the situation. NOW THAT'S BREAKING NEWS! WOW UNBELIEVABLE!? GET THE STORY STRAIGHT NEXT TIME. THE MEDICAL WORLD IS DRASTICALLY CHANGING AND ONLY PEOPLE WHO WORK IN THIS BUSINESS ARE THE ONE'S WHO UNDERSTAND. MAYBE YOUR NEWS CHANNEL SHOULD DIG A LITTLE DEEPER NEXT TIME BEFORE DECIDING TO RUN A TARNISHING AND BIASED NEWS STORY ON ONE OF THE MOST LOYAL MEMBERS OF THEIR COMMUNITY WHO HAVE SPENT THEIR LIFE DOING WHAT THEY CAN TO HELP THOSE WHO ARE IN NEED OF HIS SERVICES. .

On one hand, the family is probably better off that Dr. William Torch didn't treat their child, because he tends to order tests that are not only costly, but unnecessary. Second, even if he had been on call, he would not have gone to the hospital, because as I was informed on my first visit, he does not go to hospitals, so don't bother going to the ER if you have a problem! I know he had to be Dr. William Torch, because he is the only pediatric neurologist in the area! furthermore, if the diagnosis or treatment plan was not designed by him, he becomes argumentative and questions it!
