KRNV News 4, the University of Nevada, Reno, the Washoe County School District and the Nevada Mining Association are proud to present the Reader Leaders program for 2011-2012 school year. All elementary schools in the Washoe County School District are invited to participate in this exciting new reading program.
Each classroom is asked to meet their reading goals as set by their school (additional reading or special reading projects will enhance the nomination) and then can be nominated to receive an awards presentation, Reader Leaders t-shirts, a special classroom field trip to a Wolf Pack game and an annual free pass to future Wolf Pack games. A news story with highlights of all presentations will air on News 4 at 6pm the third Thursday of each month.
The Reader Leaders program will start in September of 2011 and run through May of 2012. The goal of the program is to promote reading and help teachers with an athletic incentive for reading.
