Brooks earns Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America Honors

Reno, NV (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- University of Nevada outfielder Trenton Brooks  has been named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American team announced  today by Collegiate Baseball newspaper.  Brooks is the ninth Wolf Pack player to earn freshman All-America honors since 2000 with Kewby Meyer being the most recent  to earn the honor in 2012.

Brooks, a second-team All-Mountain West selection led the Pack with a .330 batting average.  The native of Alpine, Calif. was second on the team with 35 RBI, third with 62 hits and third with 79 total bases.  On the season he had eight doubles and three home runs.  In addition to playing in the outfield Brooks made 16 appearances on the mound where he was 3-1 with a 3.86 ERA.

At the 2014 MW Championship he batted .435 with 10 hits, 13 total bases and eight RBI to help the Pack to a third place finish and was named the all-tournament team.
