RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Deonte Burton was named in CBSSports.com’s top 100 players in college basketball for 2013-14.

Nevada senior guard Burton is ranked 71st, according to Gary Parris. Among players in the Mountain West he ranks third with New Mexico’s Kendall Williams and Alex Kirk appearing at 46 and 47.

Last week Burton was named to the preseason Mountain West first-team for the second consecutive year and was also recently selected to the CollegeSportsMadness.com preseason MW first-team. A four-year starter he returns for his senior season this year.

The Los Angeles native averaged 16.3 points per game last season and 14.9 points during his career. Burton earned third-team All-MW honors last season. He was the 2011 Western Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year and 2012 WAC player of the year. This past summer Burton earned a tryout with USA Basketball.

Burton has started all 98 games of his career for the Wolf Pack and ranks 10th in school history with 1,459 points. He is eighth with 121 steals and ninth with 373 assists going into his senior campaign.
