RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Senior defensive end Brock Hekking was named to the Preseason All-Mountain West Team by Phil Steele’s College Football Preview, the magazine announced Tuesday.

Hekking, from Vacaville, Calif., is a two-time All-Mountain West honoree who has 24.5 tackles for loss and 17.0 sacks over the past two seasons for Nevada. He was the Wolf Pack’s lone selection on the first team but was one of nine players named by the publication.

Senior quarterback Cody Fajardo and senior running back Kendall Brock were both named to the second-team offense while defensive tackle Rykeem Yates, a junior, and senior linebacker Jonathan McNeal earned second-team honors from the defensive side of the ball.

On the third team, senior wideout Richy Turner and senior center Matt Galas were joined by defensive back Charles Garrett. Junior Ian Seau, who emerged at defensive end in 2013, was named to the fourth team.
