Reno, NV (MyNews4.com) -- The MLB Network has named Texas Rangers third baseman Kevin Kouzmanoff American League Player of the Week.

The former Wolf Pack star led the AL with 8 RBI and 20 total bases in 7 games last week.  He also tied the lead in runs scored (6) and doubles (4).  He had a slugging percentage of .690 while hitting .345 for the week.

Kouzmanoff signed with the Texas Rangers as a minor league free agent in December and was called up after Rangers starting first baseman Adrian Beltre was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a quadricep injury.  He's spent time with the Rockies, Athletics, Padres and Indians organizations.
