RENO, Nev. (AP) — Michael Caffey hit a 3-pointer for Long Beach State at the regulation buzzer to tie up the score, and the 49ers grabbed an 80-77 overtime victory against Nevada Saturday night.

Nevada led by five points (67-62) with 1:02 left to play. A 3-pointer by Long Beach State's Branford Jones cut the difference to two and Caffey's 3-pointer after a free throw by the Wolf Pack sent the game into overtime.

Caffey finished with 26 points, four in overtime, and Tyler Lam added 17 as Long Beach State (4-9) won its first away game of the season. The 49ers are on a three-game winning streak after losing nine in a row.

Jerry Evans Jr. scored 21 points and added 11 rebounds for Nevada (5-8). The Wolf Pack committed two turnovers in the final 2:35 of regulation and finished with 18 in the game.
