RENO, Nev. (AP) — Nevada quarterback Cody Fajardo has earned a spot on a watch list for the Heisman Trophy.

The Wolf Pack junior-to-be is one of 29 players including 18 quarterbacks named Thursday on the 2013 Heisman Pundit/ Heisman Trophy watch list.

A second-team all-conference pick last season, Fajardo passed for 2,786 yards and 20 touchdowns and rushed for 1,121 yards and 12 scores. He took over as Nevada's signal-caller two years ago after the San Francisco 49ers drafted Colin Kaepernick.

Two other Mountain West quarterbacks are on the list — Fresno State's Derek Carr, the brother of NFL quarterback David Carr, and San Jose's David Fales, who was on Nevada's roster in 2009.

The list is produced by Chris Huston, who has a vote for the trophy and runs the website
