Nevada falls to Boise State in first MW loss of the season

RENO, Nev. (AP) -- Nevada suffered its first Mountain West Conference loss on Tuesday night, losing to Boise State, 74-65.

Jerry Evans Jr. led Nevada with 17 points, Michael Perezhad 16, and Huff 12.

Nevada (9-9, 4-1) jumped to a 7-0 lead, with Cole Huffscoring five in the run, but Boise State (12-5, 2-2) replied with a 15-0 run and led 30-23 at halftime.

Nevada opened the second half with a 7-0 run, tying it at 30 on a jumper by AJ West, then stayed close until Drmic hit a three, sparking an 8-0 run and a 10-point Boise State lead. The Broncos pulled away and led by as many as 15.

Derrick Marks scored 21 points for Boise State.

The Broncos outshot the Wolf Pack 43.4 percent to 34.5 percent, and outrebounded them 41-31.

Anthony Drmic finished with 17, Ryan Watkins had 11 and grabbed 11 rebounds, and Nick Duncan scored 10 for Boise State.
