SQUAW VALLEY, Calif. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- If you didn't quite get your fill of the Olympics, Squaw Valley will be hosting some of the best skiiers in the world on Wednesday.

It is the kickoff of the 2014 Nature Valley U.S. Alpine Championships, and it will take place on Red Dog. The event opens the six-race program with a men's Giant Slalom, followed by the women's Giant Slalom on Thursday.

Sochi Olympic Medalists Mikaela Shiffrin and Julia Mancuso, as well as Ted Ligety and Andrew Weibrecht, are among the hundreds of athletes expected to compete. A parade and celebration is scheduled for Friday to welcome home the medalists and members of the U.S. ski team.
