Reno, NV (MyNews4.com) – Nevada football coach Brian Polian announced the Wolf Pack spring football schedule today, which includes a pair of workouts to be held at high schools in Reno and Carson City.
Spring practice will open April 2 and will culminate April 26 with the Silver and Blue Spring Game at Mackay Stadium at 2 p.m. Two of the practices during the 15-workout spring sessions will be held off campus – April 12 at Carson High School in Carson City and April 19 at Bishop Manogue High School in south Reno.
“We are extremely excited about taking two of our spring practices off of campus and into the community,” Polian said. ”We recognized an opportunity to come down off the hill and interact with our fan base in Northern Nevada and our players and staff are enthusiastic about doing so. We hope to see a lot of Silver and Blue at those high schools on those days.”
Spring practices will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from April 2-26. The two off-campus practices (April 12 and 19) are open to the public, as is the spring game, and there is no cost. The remaining practices are closed to the public but Polian and his staff continue to welcome any former football letterwinner at practices (Contact: Andy Vaughn in the football office at firstname.lastname@example.org).
While the exact format of the spring game has not been finalized, the event will feature a gameday-type atmosphere with cheerleaders, the band, music, the firing of the cannon, videoboard and other features available. Free parking is available around the stadium. Fans are encouraged to tailgate prior to the game and participate in a “tailgate throwdown” food competition.
RV parking and 30 tailgating spaces will be provided free of charge. The RV lots directly north of Mackay Stadium underneath the scoreboard will be open beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 25. To reserve an RV space, contact Meredith Montoya at (775) 682-6905 or email@example.com.
Games for children and bounces houses will be available and concession stands at Mackay Stadium will be open. Fans are encouraged to stay after the game as Wolf Pack players and coaches will be available for pictures and autographs.
Football season tickets are on sale now and start at just $99 for adults and $45 for youth (8th grade and younger). New to the 2014 season, fans can get a reserved seat season ticket at the $99 price point. Call (775) 348-PACK to purchase or register online at NevadaWolfPack.com.
