If you're one of those people who try to conceive but can't, you probably get a lot of advice from friends, family, and doctors. There are many high-tech methods of fertilizing eggs, but you might not have that kind of money. In this case, you should pay attention to some of the inexpensive, low-tech methods you can do yourself. Some of the suggestions you'll hear or read are based on individual experience, not medical research. If a lot of people claim that something works, it might be worth a try. Making sperm contact the egg is literally an uphill battle. As such, anything you can do to help sperm reach its destination could improve your chances of conception. One thing you might try is having the woman orgasm during or after ejaculation. When a woman orgasms after the man, the cervix dips, scooping into the pool of sperm deposited near it. The fluids released during female orgasm can also help sperm find their place. Some studies even suggest you can achieve the same effect if the woman climaxes slightly before the man. Other studies show evidence that a female orgasm between intercourse episodes can hinder the odds of conceiving since the cervix can suck up vaginal fluid. This makes it more acidic, which isn't good for sperm.
