If you wear glasses and don't want to have to keep taking them off and putting on a separate pair of sunglasses when you go outside, there is an alternative. You can buy inexpensive, non-prescription clip-over-- or clip-on lenses, as they're called-- at most drug stores, supermarkets, or discount stores. You may also find them at regular eyeglass providers. These clip-ons are tinted lenses with no earpieces that clip on to the top of your regular glasses, functioning as instant sunglasses. They can easily fit into a shirt pocket or purse, and they're available in both plastic and glass lenses in a variety of shades and styles. Make sure that you put the same amount of effort into buying clip-ons that you would for purchasing regular, non-prescription sunglasses. That means checking to make sure the lenses offer protection from the ultraviolet, or UV (U-V), rays of the sun. Clip-on lenses may also come as polarized lenses, which provide extra protection from glare. Clip-ons can provide an inexpensive alternative if you don't wish to invest in a pair of prescription sunglasses. You may have to experiment with different kinds to find a pair that best molds to the lenses and frame of your regular glasses, has the desired tint, and affords you the best vision possible without creating any visual obstructions because of the way they're shaped or styled.
