You can change the atmosphere of a room by changing its lighting. If your living room has a harsh overhead light, try adding a few lamps to your tables for a welcoming glow. Kitchen chores can be made easier with additional task lighting installed underneath wall cabinets. These lights are available in models that will easily fasten onto the cabinet bottoms. Almost any work area will benefit from a wall mounted or table top task light. These lighting sources help prevent shadows that overhead lights can create. If you have a room that needs general overhead lighting, you may want to consider a hanging lamp, chandelier or a light kit that attaches to a ceiling fan. Although your bathroom may be equipped with overhead lighting, additional task lighting is a practical option. Finally, you may want to consider lighting your outdoor patio or porch areas for relaxing in the evening. It's a good idea to use yellow light bulbs outdoors to avoid attracting insects.
