There are two main styles of shower and bath doors. The newest choice is a 'trackless' version. These doors are usually made from durable molded plastic and don't have metal tracks at the bottom. They may have a hinged or sliding door. This version may be easy to clean because there's no place for soap or debris to collect. These sleek, modern looking doors range from mid to upper price ranges. The other option is the traditional shower door or tub enclosure. These doors can also be hinged or sliding. The frames are usually made of metal and operate on a metal track. Most tracks have been updated in newer models to speed cleaning. Both types may be available in clear, frosted or textured door styles. If you like the fabric accent of a shower curtain, you may want to consider installing it in front of the doors. This method can help protect the curtain from mildew.
