If you're injured in a fall, a doctor should examine you as soon as possible. This is particularly important if you've received an injury to the neck or head. Closed head injuries are dangerous because the extent of the damage may not be immediately apparent on the outside, and symptoms can appear some time after the injury actually takes place. A heavy fall can also seriously damage internal organs, and a prompt and thorough medical examination may save you from serious consequences, or even save your life. Home and business owners are responsible for taking reasonable precautions to prevent accidents on their property. If you're injured in a fall caused by the negligence of a property or business owner, you may be able to recover your medical expenses and receive compensation for pain and suffering and for lost income. If you're injured in a fall accident in the workplace, you may qualify for workers' compensation.
