The engagement portrait features the bride and groom, or sometimes the bride alone, wearing their regular clothing. Usually, this would be a dress and suit. Engagement photos may be taken at a studio, in your home, or on location. City parks, restored mansions and interesting buildings are all popular sites. Typically, several variations are shot, such as the bride by herself, the couple together, and the groom by himself. Some pictures may be in color, and others in black and white. Another type of portrait is the pre-bridal picture; this is intended to show the bride exactly as she will look on her wedding day, and is taken about a month prior. These days, it's not uncommon for the groom to be included as well; but that's up to you. These formal pre-wedding photos are often included as part of your photography package; however, certain shots may be extra, so confirm the details with your photographer. You'll want to wear all the same accessories, and do your hair and makeup the same way as you'll appear at the wedding. These portraits are best taken early, before your schedule becomes too hectic; on the days before the shoot, try to plenty of rest, so you'll look fresh.
