LYON COUNTY, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- A sex education curriculum being taught in Lyon County schools is coming under fire from the American Civil Liberties Union of Nevada.
According to ACLU Legal Director Staci Pratt, they filed a formal public records request to obtain the school district's current and future sex education curriculum. Pratt claims that some of the subject matter, is homophobic and discriminatory. She says the school has used the current curriculum since 2008 and is looking to adopt a new curriculum, which she says still has some discriminatory subject matter.
News 4 reached out to the Lyon County School District for comment on the sex education curriculum. So far, calls have gone unanswered.
