I agree with rddc1947. It is the owner's actions that will make the dog who they are. Treat a dog with love and kindness. They'll be your BFF. Make sure your yard is escape free. Walk the perimeter checking any weak spots. Once a dog finds it they will keep at the spot until it wears down. If you can afford it make a cement barrier at the bottom of the fence all the way around so they can't dig under.

Pitt Bulls are gentle in nature because I owned one just like the one in this picture. People think pitt bulls are mean but that is a farce. My dog Buzz loved my grandchildren and was friendly to everyone. It isn't the breed of dog that makes them mean, it is the owner's who abuse them that make them mean. My dog came to me as an abused dog and we treated him with loving care and he ended up being the best dog. the dog in this picture isn't mean.
