RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Soon, people will have the chance to get real time snow conditions right on their smart phone.
The Sierra Avalanche Center, run by the Tahoe National Forest, provides people with information about snow conditions. The Center plans on releasing a mobile app, giving people real time snow advisories within the next year.
Thirty-four avalanche deaths were recorded in the U.S. during last year's ski season. Two of the fatal avalanches happened in California, including one near Lake Tahoe.
