Reno, NV (MyNews4.com) --Reno's Artown is in full throttle preparing for the summer. The festival has locked in nearly 500 events spread out through the entire month of July.

Spokesperson Natasha Bourlin says event goers can anticipate the festival's 17th year to be one of the best.

Last year Artown raked in an estimated $12 million to the local economy and brought in about 300,000 people with an estimated 14% of them from out of town.

Artown Board Chair Terry McQuattie says the line up is also one of the best yet. Performers are expected to arrive from all over the world.

Artown will reveal the events and performance calendar Wednesday.

News 4 will be at Artown's news conference at 10 a.m. and bring you the story on News 4 at noon.

Nv4 again shows its lack of communication skills. I like that Artown is"in full throttle"-isn't this the cars and bikes crowd's bailiwick? It is a 'lineup' or "line-up:, not (everybody) 'line up'. They are event-goers, there is no stand-alpne word "goers"-unless it's a Monty Python sketch (nudge, nudge) Know what I mean? It is an oxymoron and disagrees grammatically to say that Artown "raked in" $ to the local economy, "raked in' is specific and a colloquiallism re: collecting money! "Generated, or attracted, these Make Sense. DUH
